Experience

Not all paint products are created equal. Certain products are made to go on certain surfaces, and it is important that your painting service has extensive knowledge in this area to ensure the quality and longevity of your completed project. If the incorrect product or technique is used during your job, you may experience damage to your surface, peeling paint, cracking, or discoloration. With nearly 45 years of experience I have become extremely knowledgeable about paint products and will make an expert recommendation on the right product for your job. Whether you have a simple question about color, or a technical question about formulas, I am here to help.

The proper preparation of a project is also key. I will work thoroughly to clean surfaces, remove peeling paint, seal cracks, smooth rough spots, and ensure proper temperature prior to paint or stain application. I am very careful to cover and protect other surfaces during our work, and will never skip important steps to save time. After your job is completed, I will leave touch up paint or stain so you know exactly what was used on your property!

My Commitment to you:

  • I will clean and prepare all surfaces to be painted. This step helps new paint to adhere to the existing surface, and removes harmful occidents, pollutants and dirt.
  • I protect your property by using drop cloths or poly plastic in all areas in your business or home, including flooring, wallpaper, furnishings, etc.
  • Preparation includes the removal of vents, switch plates and the filling of all nail holes. Water stains will be treated and primed.
  • Loose paint will be scraped and removed.
  • Smoothing or sanding may be necessary for maintenance and cosmetic consideration. Primer will be applied to all bare wood and repaired/stain damaged areas to assure proper adhesion of the new paint. The step helps to prevent future peeling and stain bleed-through.
  • All cracks along door jams, baseboards, crown molding, etc. will be caulked.
  • All major wall cracks will be repaired by taping and bedding.
  • All repaired dry wall areas will be matched to the existing texture.
  • All excess paint will be removed and the entire work area will be clean and tidy.
  • All surfaces to be painted will be thoroughly pressure-washed and cleaned. This step removes pollutants and dirt. Mildew will be treated and killed.
  • All areas around the home, including shrubs, landscaping, etc. will be protected from start to finish by drop cloths or poly plastic. Windows, brick and light fixtures will be masked off to prevent paint from damaging these areas.
  • Loose caulking will be removed and replaced. Open gaps will be filled with new caulking to prevent rain water from penetrating below the surface. Loose nail holes will be re-set and reputtied as necessary. Loose and/or missing window glazing will be replaced.
  • Only quality materials will be used. All paint is applied by brush or roller.
  • Work areas will be kept neat and the job conducted in a professional manner.
  • Touch-up paint will be labeled and left for your future convenience.
